Cardinal Francis Arinze, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, blessed the offices of Adoremus and Women for Faith & Family on Saturday afternoon, November 11.

The Most Reverend Raymond Burke, Archbishop of St. Louis, also participated in the prayer ceremony dedicating the organizations’ offices on Dale Avenue in St. Louis.

In his homily on the occasion, Cardinal Arinze stressed the importance of Catholic publications accepting the responsibility of giving readers accurate information about the Church and her teachings, and in faithfully transmitting the light of Christ’s truth. Concluding the office of prayers, the cardinal sprinkled each room with Holy water.

Following the dedication ceremony, he received a tribute in gratitude for his service to the Church, presented by Helen Hull Hitchcock, president of Women for Faith & Family and editor of Voices and Adoremus Bulletin.

About forty people closely associated with the organizations attended the office blessing ceremony and the reception following.

Cardinal Arinze was in Saint Louis to address the Gateway Liturgical Conference held November 9-11. Several members of the WFF/Adoremus staff attended the conference. The cardinal’s complete address on that occasion was published, with his permission, in the Adoremus Bulletin, December-January edition (see www.adoremus.org).

Cardinal Arinze also celebrated Mass at the Cathedral Basilica on Sunday, November 12.
