Cynthia Kush Haehnel

Cynthia Kush Haehnel is an attorney in private practice who lives in St. Charles, Missouri, with her husband Fred, who is also an attorney and a Permanent Deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The Haehnels have five children. They have been members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish for the past 20 years.

A native of Chicago, she has a JD from John Marshall Law School in Chicago and a BS from Western Illinois University.  She has frequently lectured on pro-life and embryonic stem-cell related issues on radio, TV, and appeared with Archbishop Raymond Burke (archbishop of St. Louis 2003-2008, now prefect of the Apostolic Signatura) on a video supporting limitations on funding embryonic stem-cell research.

She is a former co-chair of the Archdiocese of St. Louis Pro-Life Committee, and past chairman of the Public Policy Committee of the Missouri Catholic Conference. While a member of the PPC, she assisted the Missouri bishops in formation of policy on issues of importance to Missouri Catholics.  She assisted in the drafting and development of a Catholic Health Care Directive that is widely used in the Saint Louis area.  Cindy also likes to hike, needlepoint and read.
